Chef Kgotso Moloi

My name is Kgotso Moloi, born and raised in Bethlehem, Free State. My whole life, I have had a passion for one thing: cooking. Although I didn’t receive any formal training, I cultivated my skills by working with some of the best chefs in the industry, as well as through internships and self-teaching. My biggest lessons came from working in my grandmother’s bakery from a very young age, so I could say that baking is in my blood. Over the years, I also fell in love with the art of mixing raw ingredients and showcasing creativity.

After two years of working at Darling Brew Tasterooms, I gained experience in pub and grill cooking and worked my way up. Eventually, I got the opportunity to work for one of the best restaurants in South Africa, The Waterside Restaurant under La Colombe, which gave me insight into the world of fine dining.

In the future, I plan to start my own private chef company, specializing in personal chef services, menu planning, meal prep, and both private and public events.
