I'm a young chef with 4 years experience in the industry. I studied culinary arts at The International Hotel School Sunninghill. Thereafter completed my training at The Saxon Boutique Hotel in 2015 and African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel in 2016.
I then got the chance to work in the USA at a platinum rated club Bonita Bay County Club in Florida and then moved on to work under a Masterchef at Grandfather Golf and Coutry Club. After that experience, I wanted more international experience, and went to work in New Zealand at a premium vineyard restaurant, Mudbrick Vineyard and restaurant.
Upon my travels, I realised that although restaurants in the countries I had been to, incorporate lots of other international cuisines in their cooking and menus, I had never came across one that that had African, mainly South African dishes on them. That prompted me to recreate, innovate and re-imagine my native dishes and food combinations I grew up with. Using international and modern techniques, I aim to bring my native dishes to the world, to one day be amongst the best.
