Private Chef In SandtonI am a professional chef with 35 years of experience in the culinary world. I am classically trained in French Cuisine but my culinary style pushes the boundaries of east and west.
I was born and raised in Xi'an China where I started to cook with grandma when I was 14 years old and ever since cooking has been a lifelong passion and journey for me.
In 1983, I joined the first international hotel as a chef de partie in Xi'an China where I then got the opportunity to travel overseas to learn and train in Continental European cuisine and South Asian cuisine. In the late 80s and early 90s, I spent 6 months in Manila Philippines, and then, three months in Genève Switzerland and 1 year in Shanghai China working and training with various masters in their respective cuisines.
Then in 1992, I came to South Africa to work in Sun City for over 15 years and eventually became the Head Sous Chef at the Palace Hotel. I am currently the Chef de Cuisine (executive chef) at one of the hotels of the Tsogo Sun group.
My passion is now to travel and experience the food of many other cuisines of which I did not have the opportunity to come across and also keep cooking good and hearty food for my family and especially for my wife.
