Chef Taylor Filko

I have been cooking professionally for about 7 years. I went to college at Indiana University and earned a degree in Studio Art. I had always enjoyed cooking as a hobby and that passion just kept growing until I decided to explore it professionally. My first cooking job was at a large catering company in New York City. I then went to Hawaii for 7 months to work on farms and I was able to work at a farm to table pizza stand and help cook for a harvest season music festival for 1000 people. I then started working at a restaurant group in New Jersey called Harvest Restaurant Group where I stayed for 3 years, working at 3 of their restaurants and working my way up from line cook to Sous Chef. I moved to Chicago in April 2018 and I have worked at Bellemore and Pacific Standard Time during the past 2 years. I am also interested in exploring the outdoors, running, biking and swimming. I try to keep my life balanced between cooking and all the other more active interests I have. Cooking is not just a job to me but something I think about all the time and enjoy learning as much as possible about.
