Chef Tarey Elizabeth Beckwith

I have come from humble beginnings.

Growing up in Irvington, New Jersey, my dad taught me the art of classic Southern

cooking. Little did I know, as an eight year old girl, those early cooking lessons were

sparking a passion to become a professional Chef.

In my early career, I spent 20 years in retail management. Yet the early passion for

creating delicious foods became more important to me, and I swapped retail sales for

sauté pans. I never looked back, and I followed my heart, and my early inspiration.

I took a leap, and started my own catering business, simply called Tarey's Catering.

I focused on catering services for any occasion, including baking and creating custom cakes.

I was growing my business, and learning how to navigate the challenging culinary

world. I ultimately found myself in Food Service, with a mentor who would enhance my

skills and talents as a chef. I learned knife skills, and techniques such as Sous Vide,

Flambé and Red cooking.

I am truly inspired by how food can tell a story, convey a cultural influence, and how it

brings people together. In my current position as a Personal Chef, I take pride in the

desires specific to the needs of each family I cook for. I consider menus which will

delight and satisfy my clients. I enhance foods with flavor and always keep true to my family roots.
