Playful with both food and life. Love working local MA produce to create unique dishes that you might not expect.
I’m an executive chef here in Boston that just moved up from NYC. I have over 2 decades of kitchen experience ranging from restaurants, sports entertainment, and cultural venues.
Growing up in an Italian/Irish household, if we weren't eating food, we were talking about it . I would stare in amazement every holiday, as my mother, grandmother, and aunts prepared feasts fit for royalty. I became fascinated with food, and after being caught enough times stealing "samples" I was soon nominated the official taste tester of the family. At the age of 16, I started to experiment on my own with cooking and thus began my culinary journey.
While attending the University of Georgia, I would frequently volunteer to cook for my roommates and we became the only college dorm on campus enjoying filet mignon and lobster risotto instead of 2 day old pizza for dinner. I had found my passion, and by the end of my Junior year I committed to embark on a journey toward culinary mastery. Two weeks after graduation, I moved to the center of the food universe - New York City. It was there I was fortunate enough to meet an extremely talented chef, Jared Lozupone, who decided to take a chance on a young kid who had a dream and nearly zero knife skills. With tremendous patience, he mentored me and gave me the tools I needed to become a successful chef.
Today I've the had honor of of cooking for a diverse and eclectic group of people. I've cooked lunch for President Obama, held cocktail receptions for the VMAs, helped opened the 40/40 club inside the Barclay Center and have had the privilege of working alongside prestigious chefs whom I admire. After opening the Barclay Center, I went on to run the catering department for one of the biggest financial investment group in the world and enjoyed the challenge of providing a positive meal experience at such a large volume and scale.
There are days where it may seem daunting to make the world a better place or for a single individual to make a significant impact, but I have come to realize that through thoughtful cooking one can truly bring joy to others even if just for a few moments of a good meal. I am grateful for the wonderful experiences in cooking that I have had, and I would like to pay it forward and share my passion with you here.
