Meghan Chopus discovered her passion for cooking early in life. Growing up as the youngest of five sisters in a household rich with Polish, Scottish, and Italian culinary traditions, Meghan found her niche in the family kitchen, surrounded by authentic recipes that fueled her lifelong love of cooking.
Following her time at the University of Montana, Meghan honed her skills as a chef and waitress in Park City, UT, before deciding to elevate her culinary journey to a professional level. In 2001, she enrolled in the Seattle Central Culinary Academy. While balancing the demands of culinary school, Meghan also launched an eclectic food stand at a bustling antique market, where she not only crafted delicious sandwiches but also forged meaningful connections within the community.
Returning to the mountains after four transformative years in Seattle, Meghan divided her time between Utah and Montana. She played a pivotal role in opening a restaurant in Bozeman, MT, alongside assisting her sister, all while fielding an increasing number of private chef and catering requests from Park City. In 2007, Meghan officially established her full-time private chef business, a venture that has steadily expanded ever since.
Today, Meghan draws inspiration from diverse sources—be it the allure of restaurant cuisine, the thrill of skiing and hiking in the mountains, or the joy of cooking in her own family kitchen alongside her husband and 10-year-old daughter. Known for fostering community spirit, Meghan frequently brings her neighbors together for delightful gatherings, whether it's savoring paella on the back deck or relishing fresh pressed apple cider in her front yard.
Meghan's culinary philosophy diverges from the trendy tweezer chef approach, emphasizing instead the use of local and seasonal ingredients coupled with a down-to-earth cooking style that consistently produces delectable dishes.
