My name is Maria Valentina Fernández, and I’m a passionate and versatile professional with a background that bridges the worlds of culinary arts and communications. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, I’ve built a career driven by creativity, precision, and a deep love for food and storytelling.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communications with a specialization in Audiovisual Arts from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, and an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu, Miramar, FL. This unique combination has allowed me to express myself not only through dishes but also through visual media, content, and experiences that connect with people on multiple levels.
Throughout my culinary career, I’ve held positions from line cook to owner-chef at renowned establishments like OBRA Kitchen Table, Itamae, and my own ventures Sando San Caracas and Gaia Catering. My skills range from sushi and Latin American cuisine to classical French sauces and modern plating techniques. I pride myself on being adaptable, detail-oriented, and constantly evolving — always ready to learn something new or experiment with flavors.
In every kitchen, I bring strong organizational skills, a deep respect for food safety and preparation, and a collaborative spirit. Whether I’m managing a team, planning a menu, or cooking for a private client, my goal is always to deliver an unforgettable culinary experience.
Fluent in Spanish and English, and conversational in Italian, I thrive in multicultural environments. My earlier work in media — including roles at E! Entertainment Television and as a digital content producer — adds another layer to my ability to curate and present meaningful experiences, both on the plate and beyond.
