Hey there, I’m Loren. I love to cook healthy food made from local organic and sustainable ingredients. I have experience cooking for vegan’s and others with dietary restrictions. With 10+ years experience cooking I have some incredible recipes and always cook with 100% love and positive energy. Chef Loren Bird fell in love with cooking at the age of about 5. When they asked him in kindergarten what he wanted to be when he grew up he said a chef and a race car driver. He never got around to being a race car driver but fell in love with the ocean and started surfing instead. Loren has worked in high-end restaurants all over the west coast and eventually started his own sushi catering company in his 20s. He later moved into restaurant management which he loved but found himself not spending enough time in the kitchen where he is most happy. He expresses his care for others through cooking healthy foods. He recently spent eight months cooking for our homeless community here in Santa Barbara where he cooked breakfast in the mornings at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission and that’s where he rediscovered his joy of cooking for others and giving back to the community. He is very passionate about community and sustainability, and he also does surf therapy for troubled youth programs. He’s a master in the kitchen and you absolutely must try his dishes.
