Chef Latoya Larkin

Chef Larkin has been a personal/private chef since 2006 and loves to cater to her clientele with total freedom of expressing her culinary creativity. She is an International Award-Winning Chef, USA Today & Wall Street Journal Best Selling Author, Culinary Educator, and Food Service Restaurant Consultant. Outside of Black Girl Tamales, she owns and operate It’s Thyme 4a Change 501 c3 nonprofit. That work with at-risk youth teaching culinary basic and entrepreneurial skills to build foodpreneurs. Outside of doing everything that she’s ever dreamed of career wise she’s a diamond in rough working hard to make all dreams a reality.

Proud owner and creative genius behind Black Girl Tamales located in Houston, Texas. A creative fusion tamale concept where the South of the Border meets Southern Comfort Soul Food. She is no stranger to the kitchen and has been cooking since the age of 8 and cooking professional for over 20 years. Her expansive knowledge and culinary passion have led to lifetime achievement opportunities. She’s had great opportunities in her career to cook for some of the elite actors and actresses while being a chef at Morehouse College such as: Diana Ross, Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington, Robert Townsend, and John Legend.
