I am sincerely devoted and passionate regarding creating culinary art and dishes that are hard to forget.
My name is Larson Washington. I am extremely excited about this opportunity. I am currently enjoying my 14th year as a middle school teacher. Originally, I taught social studies and English. However, I have been fortunate enough to teach middle culinary arts for the last three years. Cooking is my passion. It has been a blessing. I graduated from culinary arts school in 2001. Since graduation, I have held every position in the kitchen, including line cook, sous chef, head chef and restaurant manager. My cooking style is clean, healthy, and classic. I would describe myself as a talent chef with diverse experiences. I am originally from Austin, Texas. My Texas heritage taught me to appreciate and focus on American southern regional cuisine, Tex-Mex, and of course dry rub barbeque. Growing up in Seattle has giving me a huge appreciation for seafood, Asian, and Indian style cuisine. I feel confident in those areas, yet my absolute favorite is Italian. Overall, my palate is eclectic, and my skills vary. I would be open to focusing on one specific area in the future.
