Personal Chef In ChicagoHi, I’m David Welch. I’m a personal chef and small private party caterer. I’ve been in the food industry for over 10yrs! I trained professionally at Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School in San Francisco, CA. I honed my skills in restaurants and kitchens both in San Francisco and Chicago. Most notably; Wayfare Tavern (Food Networks, Tyler Florence-San Francisco), 1760 Polk St. (San Francisco), Girl and the Goat (Top Chef Winner, Stephanie Izard-Chicago), The Chopping Block Cooking School (Chicago).
My love for food came at a young age. I grew up outside of Detroit where I learned about the joys of food and cooking through my grandparents. I used to pick beans, tomatoes and greens with my grandfather in his backyard. He showed me how to transform these ingredients into great comforting dishes and family traditions. This sparked my interest in food and I have been cooking for family, friends and dinner parties ever since.
