Hello! My name is Cody Viar. From dishwasher to Executive Sous Chef to Teaching; I have a wide range of knowledge. I have had the pleasure of seeing many sides of the Culinary & Hospitality Industry. I have had the oppritunity to become a teacher and share my passion and knowledge of Food & Nutrition with students. I love teaching and applying knowledge to a hands on setting. I still work in the Culinary Industry as an Executive Sous Chef to keep my skills up to date and sharpened! I am fun, laid back and I ALWAYS strive for excellence in all that I do. I believe your biggest critic will always be yourself. I have never placed my "Style" of cooking to a certain cuisine. I love to take my knowledge and apply it to any menu that I can. Chef Cody was easy to communicate with, totally responsive to my questions and needs, and provided a superior meal. My entire party was impressed with his dedication and the quality of the service. I highly recommend Take a Chef and Chef Cody.

Chef Cody did a wonderful job with our dinner for 8. He was very responsive as we messaged back and forth through the app about menu, was accommodating with my menu requests, and was overall easy to work with. The only downside was that day-of he arrived 1.5 later than he initially said he would. But he still got the food plated and on the table within 30 min of our target time. And, the food was delicious. Both Chef Cody and his assistant were polite and professional. He also left all of the leftovers for us to enjoy later. I have no hesitation recommending Chef Cody to anyone.

Chef Cody is a thorough professional and presented us with an excellent menu with a range of appealing choices. He is an excellent communicator and had us looking forward to his cooking, which did not disappoint. Each item that he made for us was delicious, nuanced, and visually appealing. I highly recommend Chef Cody and look forward to his cooking in the future!

I give Chef Cody the highest possible rating. From the booking/proposal stage to the service, everything went smoothly and the meal was delicious. He responded quickly any time I had a question leading up to the event and I especially appreciated his flexibility--in terms of customizing the menu, addressing certain dietary restrictions and accommodating a late scheduling change. Perhaps the best thing that I can say is that if looking to book a private chef again in the future I wouldn't hesitate to hire Chef Cody. As mentioned, the service and food were terrific.

We had such an incredible experience using Chef Cody and Katie for our team offsite in the Smoky Mountains. The food and dessert were incredible, we were so well taken care of. The were the cherry on top of a wonderful experience -- communicative, on-time, fun, engaging and great chefs -- highly recommend!
