Private Chef In ChicagoMy name is Carlos Lopez Muñoz, and I am originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. Drawing inspiration from the culinary heritage of my home region, El Istmo (The Isthmus), I am dedicated to showcasing its unique cooking style. My passion for cuisine stems from early experiences cooking alongside my grandmothers, allowing me to pay homage to their immense knowledge and culinary traditions.
My culinary journey began by studying culinary arts in Oaxaca, where I honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of traditional Mexican flavors and techniques. Seeking further growth and exposure to diverse culinary perspectives, I embarked on a journey to Chicago, where I had the privilege of working alongside Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan at Le Mexique, where I gained invaluable insights into refined techniques and culinary presentation. Additionally, I had the honor of working with the esteemed Chef Rick Bayless, also known for his expertise in Mexican cuisine. My professional growth continued under the mentorship and friendship of Chef Andres Padilla, whose guidance and expertise have shaped me into the chef I am today.
