Private Chef In New York CityChef VanderGast has enjoyed an 20 year long career in the culinary field and the last decade managing a wide variety of culinary operations. Most recently as the Executive Chef of the Ned Nomad, little beach house Malibu and of Soho House’s North American flag ship in NYC (a brand leader in private members only clubs). Brian was at the heart of the Dumbo house research and development pre-opening team in 2018. He was integral in driving menu development, flow of service, and staff training.
Bringing a diversified lens to a culinary operation, he has worked across a broad range of establishments with leading brands and world renowned chefs including: Soho House NYC, Soho House West Hollywood, Dumbo House, Marriott Marquis Times Square, Borgata Hotel & Casino, The James Beard Foundation, Bobby Flay, Enrique Olvera, Eric Ripert, Jose Andres, Danny Meyer, Emeril Lagasse. Ranging from boutique hotels, mega resorts, the largest grossing banquet operation in North America, fine dining, casual dining, events, pop-up executions, and private clubs.
