I am both a passionate home cook and a seasoned professional. I am a native New Yorker, living life the way it should be in Maine.
I began cooking dinner for my family when I was 12 years old. I had fantastic food influences all around me from my Ukrainian Grandmother who taught me to shop small and wisely to my Aunt who was a world traveler living in Northern California who taught me the joys of middle eastern spices and California Cuisine.
I came to the professional kitchen 24 years ago after a career in theatre and special events. My place has always been behind the stove, at the farmers market, in the speciality stores.
I find incredible joy in creating memorable moments around the table . I love a theme whether is a holiday and cuisine or event a color. I love love love getting creative, my theatre background really comes out in those instances, though I prefer the food to ta center stage while I stay in teh background.
I prefer to cook with local seasonal ingredients but am not orthodox in the approach. I cater, private chef and sometimes do in home cooking classes for groups.
