Growing up in a border town gave Alejandro the opportunity of experiencing the best of both worlds as well as its complexity. His passion for food comes from the necessity of feeding himself as a child and the comfort and safety he found in food. Chef Sanchez has had great mentors like his older brother chef Luis Martin, Andres Savoy, Larry Delgado, Gaston Acurio and Graham Campbell. These renowned mentors and experiences have helped him find his style and identity to which Mesona is the outlet. A concept that’s ends goal is to give an intimate experience where you enjoy the flavors of Mexico in an elevated way, yet are able to connect with its roots and culture. It’s that border line culture where you daily are debating to be or not to be. It’s that daily search for identity and realizing that you are not from here or there.
