Chef Aubrey Kurlansky

I cook what I like to eat and judging by my friend's reactions, it seems to work. Growing up in South Africa I was immersed in local cooking from a young age- often helping in the kitchen. But I was hungry to learn and try more. Upon moving to the UK in the 80's I started cooking for family and friends. I found that my food was always well received and that encouraged me to sell my baked goods at Camden Town Market. I have always been the Chef in the house. In 2010 My friend invited me to IZMIR Turkey to work in her Mediterranean Restaurant and revamp her menu and kitchen as executive Chef. Managing a local kitchen team of inexperienced chefs ignited a passion in me for teaching and upon my return to London I started the Heart of Cooking - giving local cooking classes from basic to experienced in groups of up to 10 people. It grew into catering for events like anniversaries and canape parties and when I moved to Asia my love for cooking an feeding people was expressed through dinner parties in my home which continue to this day.
