Chef Laura Mihalache

I am a 34 years old Romanian pastry chef.

I have been working as CDP at Kaiamo, the best fine dining restaurant in Romania, as a Pastry Chef Assistant at a very appreciated pastry school in Romania, pastry chef technician and private chef.

I like making natural or real ingrediants dishes and desserts , always trying to be different, unusual, unexpecting and in the same time focused on textures and different taste combinations. People should also feel certain things when having food, it’s not just about mixing the right amounts of ingredients at the right temperature. Each dish/dessert should tell a story, or it should shock in some way. All the senses should be activated and with just a “few” ingredients to be able to change someone’s feelings, mood or thoughts. For me food is not just food, working as a chef and having the honour to feed people is the most nobel thing I can do. It is my way to bring happiness.

In the past 6 years I have been literally obsessed with cooking and pastry as I have finally found my true and genuine passion. I’ve been working every single day to become as good as possible and to gather all the knowlege I can possibly get in my country.

I like the thrill of a full day of work in a kirchen, I like the pressure of getting a perfect dish or dessert right in time and also I love having impecable preparation. I am a very creative person and this is the only way I can express my true self.
