Get to know me better

I strive to build new relationships and I have high expectations of my ability. This allows me to be creative and express my passion food

I was raised and trained in South Africa the Eastern Cape. In 2011, I graduated from the 3 Fat Fish School of Food in Jeffrey's Bay and launched my ongoing passion and interest in food. I have worked in Bistro style, fine dining and African cuisine style restaurants.

In 2019 I won an award for the most innovative chef of the year for my region.

In 2015 me and my family opened The Marina Wharf in Jeffrey's Bay, which we later sold in 2017. Stewart then moved to England and did part time work for a Restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide. On my return he joined the Infood Deli team in Jeffrey's Bay as head chef, until moving to Ginger in October 2018.

I moved to Northern Ireland in the middle of the pandemic to look for a better future for my family.

My passion for food is all encompassing; from growing and sourcing, to preparation and technique, I am constantly striving to challenge myself and broaden my knowledge and skills when it comes to anything food related. As a social person, cooking allows me to express himself creatively as well as work closely with a team, and offers the opportunity to make people happy with my food.

I am also a dedicated family man, when im not creating dishes at Ginger, im enjoys quality time with his family.
