Chef James provided an exceptional culinary experience that exceeded our expectations in every aspect. His communication prior to the event was impeccable, displaying a high level of professionalism and attentiveness. He was incredibly accommodating to our special requests, taking into consideration both pregnancy-related dietary needs and vegetarian preferences. Moreover, his flexibility in curating the evening's menu according to our preferences was truly commendable. Punctuality was evident as Chef James arrived promptly, accompanied by a colleague, which was a thoughtful gesture given the size of our gathering. James was amazing! He made a delicious meal for us, and worked with us to plan out a menu that fits our tastes. He described the dishes and their local history and talked with us about the area. He’s very talented and the food was beautiful and cooked perfectly. He also left the kitchen spotless.

We connected with Chef James while planning a dinner for our small wedding night in Germany (we're from Canada) and looking into Take A Chef. We had never used the service before and didn't really know what to expect - whatever our expectations were, Chef James blew them out of the water. Not only was the meal absolutely incredible, but Chef James was incredibly personable and a pleasure to talk to! He was very open to answering questions about what went into certain dishes or how they were prepared, which was great for some of the people in the group who enjoy cooking. The food was amazing. Every dish that Chef James prepared was to die for - from the burrata starter, the minestrone (with a little bit of a kick that just took it over the top) to the main course which was a beautifully cooked piece of beef and, hands down, the best baked potato I have ever eaten. For dessert... words can't describe how delicious the chocolate cake was. One person in our group said afterwards that "this was the best wedding meal that I have ever eaten" and I couldn't agree more. It was the perfect end to an amazing day. I cannot say enough good things about Chef James and his food, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone, for any occasion.

Es war ein sehr schöner Abend. Unser Koch James Karanja war ein toller Koch. Äußerst freundlich, tolle Kochkunst, wunderschöne Präsentation der Gerichte.... und die Küche war im Anschluß makellos. Auch auf Sonderwünsche ging James top ein. Vielen Dank für Alles, James! Eindeutig eine herzliche Empfehlung wert.

Our group of 14 traveled from USA to experience Oktoberfest. We thought having a down night at our rental was exactly what we needed for rest and fueling our bodies with great nutrition was in order. All being foodies, we were so happy with our decision of hiring him. He sent our tastebuds spinning with a delicious 4 course meal and left the kitchen clean. Choosing Chef James will be a culinary experience you cannot go wrong with!

Lovely meal, just what I wanted. Many years ago I was shown how to make an Apfelstrudel properly. I have eaten many okay ones over the years since, but I have never since been offered one with paper-thin pastry and thin layers of apple properly rolled. Usually it is a few layers of pastry interspersed with chunks of apple. I was able to tell my guests that they were eating the Real Thing, and to enjoy it! Every course was delicious and worthy of praise, but the Apfelstrudel was exceptional. Thank you very much, James!

James was very attentive and flexible. We needed a few last minute adjustments ( by us, not James)and James was able to adjust and still presented a beautiful and delicious 4 course meal. Very professional and polite every step of the way. Would definitely recommend.
