Our chef Roberto Gesuita was superb! The magic he was able to make in our little kitchen was superb. The only complaint is that we ate too much, but we couldn't resist the salmon tartare with avocado mousse, the sausage, cheese and herb galette, and the mushroom and gruyere vol-au-vent with thyme cream sauce, and those were just the appetizers. Roberto then served us a luxurious confit duck leg with lentils du puy and orange gastrique, and a classic salade lyonnaise (lardons, croutons, endive, red lettuce, and a poached egg, with orange slices to give it a twist). But, wait, that was followed by our main dishes: filet mignon with bordelaise sauce, and Dover sole meunière. Though we were too full to eat the desserts, we did it anyhow, enjoying the custard tarts immensely, as well as the classic chocolate mousse and the super simple lemon posset (French name but with UK origins). Roberto was generous, upbeat, humorous, and extremely considerate. We had the best night.
